You've painted dozens of paintings...
...yet you still don't feel like you've found your artistic voice.
Every now and then you create something you absolutely love...
...but you can't explain why.
What if your best paintings have been trying to tell you something all along?
Your best work already holds the answers
FOCUS is a 10-week guided journey to help you discover your unique visual language by analysing your own artwork, with weekly lessons, live coaching, and a supportive community to keep you moving forward.
Most artists are looking in the wrong place.
Â
Most artists believe they need to find their style by studying artists they admire.
So they collect tutorials.
Pinterest boards.
Instagram saves.
Workshop after workshop.
Trying to borrow pieces of someone else's visual language.
Eventually they become frustrated because although they can imitate techniques...
they still don't know
"What do I want MY work to say?"
FOCUS is different.
Instead of asking you to study another artist... it teaches you to become fascinated by your own work.
Your paintings become the textbook.
Your favourite passages become the lessons.
Your visual language becomes the curriculum.
THE CORE PHILOSOPHY
Inspiration may come from other artists. Direction comes from your own work.
Your Golden Nuggets
Hidden inside your paintings are moments that stop you in your tracks.
Perhaps it's a colour combination.
A tiny section of texture.
A beautiful edge.
A composition.
A drawing.
A relationship between shapes.
These are your Golden Nuggets.
And they hold the clues to your visual language.
FOCUS
Find your direction. Find your voice.
FOCUS is not a paint-along course.
It is a guided journey of artistic self-discovery.
Over ten weeks you’ll learn how to analyse your own work, identify the visual qualities that truly resonate with you, and intentionally develop them into a stronger, more confident visual language.
Imagine Painting Like This...
You no longer wonder...
"What should I do next?"
Instead...
You know what excites you.
You recognise your favourite colours.
You understand your compositions.
You know when a painting feels authentic.
You make decisions faster.
You stop second-guessing yourself.

What Makes FOCUS So Powerful?
Â
Sometimes we can't see what's right in front of us.
When we lose clarity, it's easy to believe the answers lie somewhere else—in another workshop, another technique, or another artist's work. We search for inspiration, hoping someone else will show us the way.
But your unique artistic voice isn't waiting to be found in someone else's paintings.
It's already present in your own.
FOCUS helps you see what has been there all along.
By carefully studying your own artwork, you'll uncover the colours, shapes, marks, textures and design elements that appear again and again—the visual characteristics that make your work uniquely yours. Together, they form your visual language.
This course isn't about deciding whether your paintings are good.
It's about gaining absolute clarity on why certain parts of your work resonate so deeply with you, and understanding the personality of your artistic voice.
Once you can recognise those qualities, you know exactly what to nurture, what to strengthen, and where to take your work next.
Instead of searching for answers in other artists' work, you'll learn to trust the evidence that's already in your own.
Because your best work already holds the answers.
FOCUS simply helps you see them.
A Note from Judy
After years of teaching artists, I've come to realise that almost everyone is searching for the same thing—to create authentic work that feels deeply personal and meaningful.
Yet I've also noticed that many artists spend years looking in the wrong place for their style.
They take another workshop, learn another technique, experiment with a new colour palette, or try to paint with the freedom and confidence of an artist they admire. Those experiences are valuable—they expand our skills, inspire new ideas and keep us growing.
But they don't answer the question that keeps returning...
"What is my style?"
I know, because I was asking exactly the same question.
What finally changed everything for me wasn't learning another technique or discovering another artist.
It was learning to study my own paintings.
I began noticing the colours I returned to again and again, the shapes that felt natural, the textures that satisfied me, and the compositions that continued to hold my attention years later. I realised that the paintings I loved most—and often the favourite parts of my paintings—weren't random successes. They were leaving me clues.
Those recurring choices became the foundation of my visual language.
That's when I understood something profound: the next step in my artistic journey wasn't to keep adding more. It was to go deeper into what was already there.
Instead of searching for a new style, I began strengthening the one that had quietly been emerging all along.
FOCUS is designed to help you recognise the clues already present in your own work, understand what makes your artwork uniquely yours, and develop your visual language with greater clarity, confidence and intention.
Because your most authentic work doesn't come from collecting more techniques.
It comes from understanding—and nurturing—the artist you already are.
